can I get a woot, woot from the crowd...

10/15/15

I didn't say anything yesterday but now that it's happened two days in a row I guess it's kind of a thing, on it's way to habit, so I can let you in on it...

I am an exerciser.  There I said it.  I have now gotten up earlier than usual, done fifteen minutes of stretching and good old fashioned leg lifts and arm toners and then headed out the door for a 30 minute brisk walk.

Can I get a woot, woot from the crowd?  What, you're not impressed?  You say you've been doing this for years?  I say good going and keep it up (woot, woot to you).  But for this anti-exercising, please don't make me walk girl, it is a big deal.

Now that I'm older it takes more than just a few salads and less sweet treats to see any progress on the scale so I thought it was time to get moving.  I have made a pact with my mom that I will call her when I head out and she is going to do the same when she walks her dog.  There is accountability in numbers, right?

It may sound silly but I feel better already.  It has inspired me to get dressed (with make up and everything) and really be productive.  Okay, I know it's only been two days but it's a start.

What about you?  Do have a workout plan or is your exercise just hit or miss or none at all?

xo, Patty

  2. I do. I also walk our dog 2-3 times a day as well. I have a small goal right now to lose 24 pounds. Once that goal is met, I'll make one more goal.

  3. Believe me. I am giving you a BIG WOOT WOOT! I am a non exerciser too. I have good intentions but that is as far as it goes. I think the accountability thing with your mom is a great idea. Keep it up, girlfriend.

  4. Yay for you Patty. I always have good intentions but then I start the day and it never happens.
Love your idea of accountability with your mom. I may have to get my daughter involved with that. My walking buddy ,Deb, moved a year ago and since then I have not been inspired. Thanks for the push

  7. Good for you Patty...yes, doing the walks with your mom is the best...you both will benefit. If my feet allowed I would walk all the time. I like it for the exercise and the clearing your mind when you are alone. Fun when you are with others to talk with,as you walk. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  9. Fantastic, Patty...I so hope you keep it up! The hard part is being motivated to walk out the door. As you probably have already realized, once you get going, it actually feels good. And you feel so much better afterwards! Yes, I am pretty much a regular exerciser. I walk just about every day and I also do yoga, both at home and at a weekly class. :-)

  12. Woot woot for you! I am made to walk by our little dog every day without fail, but am trying to increase my distance. If it weren't for him, I'd probably never get out the door.

  16. Good for you Patty! I love the what exercise does for me on the inside as much as the outside! I'm missing having any sort of exercise routine right now. I can manage a bit of yoga every day in my studio but am not up for an entire class and a walk around Target pretty much does me in but I will get there too!
